10 apartment buildings, a lyceum and a private sector damaged as a result of the shelling of Poltava

As of 11:30 on March 31, Poltava is eliminating the consequences of a night attack by Russian drones.

According to preliminary data from surveys that are still ongoing, the Russian strike damaged 14 objects in Poltava. Among them are ten apartment buildings, a vocational school and private houses in several neighborhoods, where the blast wave broke out more than 400 windows. The destruction of private enterprise buildings and their signs was also recorded. This was reported on March 31 in the Poltava City Council.

Four people were injured as a result of the shelling, including two adults and two children. Currently, two victims, including one child, are in city hospitals in serious condition, and two more people remain under the supervision of specialists. Thanks to the support of the socially responsible business “Staryy Melnyk”, it was possible to temporarily relocate eight residents whose homes were most damaged at night.

Over 200 people and five units of special equipment from city services were involved in the restoration work at the locations. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service are currently dismantling overhanging and movable structures of buildings, and fighters of the volunteer community formation together with employees of the municipal enterprise “Decorative Cultures” are helping residents close damaged windows.

During the impact on the house, the family of a military man who lived on the ninth floor was injured. The mother and son are in intensive care, and their apartment suffered significant damage. It is known that as a result of the impact, the child received multiple trauma and shrapnel injuries, after which he was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Poltava Children’s City Hospital. According to the father, Bohdan Dvorovy, the son is currently in serious condition.

At the same time, the boy’s mother, Viktoria Dvorova, received a closed head injury. In addition, the woman has fractures. She was hospitalized in the trauma department.
