On November 19, a warehouse in Dnipro was hit by a Russian drone attack, said Vladislav Gaivanenko, acting head of the regional military administration. The Russians struck the premises of the United Nations World Food Program.
The organization’s press service reported that more than 10,000 food kits for civilians, intended for people living near the front line, were destroyed. Some of the products stored in the warehouse had not yet been packed.
“WFP continues to assess the extent of the damage. Fortunately, no one was injured. Over the past 18 months, warehouses and vehicles of WFP and our partners have been hit more than 60 times. Attacks on civilian infrastructure are prohibited by international humanitarian law,” the press service noted.
All food packages planned for distribution in November have been sent to warehouses of partners of the United Nations World Food Program, so the distribution of aid will proceed as planned, the organization assured.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian settlements with strike drones and missiles of various types, in particular the Dnipropetrovsk region. On November 18, Russia launched four Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 114 drones, most of which are Shahed, into Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov commented on the Russian attacks on the Dnipro. According to him, civilian enterprises and infrastructure facilities where there were no military ones have recently been damaged. In particular, a sanitary napkin warehouse, a tea packaging plant, a medicine warehouse, and a furniture factory were destroyed as a result of the attacks.
