11 attacks on ships in Odessa region ports in 2025: seven sailors killed

In the first nine months of 2025, the monitoring group recorded 11 attacks on ships in the waters of Odessa region. 13 civilian vessels and a warship were damaged.

This was reported by the Monitoring Group on Sanctions and Freedom of Navigation.

The attacks were recorded in the ports of Odessa, Chornomorsk, Izmail, Prydunavye, as well as in the Black Sea and the Danube estuary. Russia used ballistic missiles, drones, sea mines and unmanned boats.

The largest number of incidents occurred in July and August of this year – five attacks each. In March and May of this year – isolated cases.

Among the damaged ships are SUPER SARKAS, MSC LEVANTE F, MJ Pinar (four sailors died), AJ ROSE (two died), Excellion, NS Pride and the ferry “Geroi Shipka”.
