The main tasks of Zaporizhzhia sports in the conditions of martial law were discussed at a meeting of the head of the regional military administration, Yury Malashka, with the heads of structural subdivisions, the heads of the district military administration and the heads of the military administrations of the settlements.
As Nataliya Vlasova, head of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Regional Military Administration, noted, the organization of the educational and training process, as well as sports events, takes place in compliance with all safety requirements. Despite the martial law, cooperation with the federations was organized, the contingent of athletes and teaching staff, as well as the material and technical base of the institutions, was preserved. Currently, more than 8,000 children and adolescents work in the institutions, which is 48% of the total number of pupils. 312 full-time trainers work with them.
62 children’s and youth sports schools are registered in the region, 34 are working full-time at the place of registration. 20 sports schools have temporarily suspended their activities, 8 facilities are operating in other territories of Ukraine. 12 buildings located on the territory of active hostilities were damaged, Nataliya Vlasova said.
Since the beginning of the year, the participation of athletes and national teams of the Zaporizhia region in 87 educational and training meetings, 98 official all-Ukrainian and 26 international competitions has been ensured, and 20 regional championships in various sports have been held. 398 representatives of the region participate in the national teams of Ukraine.
The head of the Office emphasized that the main goal at the moment is to coordinate the efforts of all structures of the region and focus on the stage of the qualifying Olympic competitions in 2024, which will be held in Paris. In order to promote training, the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration pays scholarships to 24 best athletes and 3 coaches based on the results of their performances at competitions in Olympic, non-Olympic sports and sports for people with disabilities in the total amount of UAH 1,800,000 .
In addition, there are 7 coordinators of the social project operating on the territory of Zaporizhzhia district, which ensure the holding of sports events for all those who want to. One of the areas of their activity is the involvement of people from the temporarily occupied territories, especially children, in psychological rehabilitation through mobile activity.
During September 2 and 3, police investigators and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) documented the consequences of 222 Russian hits on the territory of Zaporizhzhіa, Pologiv and Vasyliv districts.

In total, in two days, the police registered 52 cases of destruction of residential and civil infrastructure.
More than 30 private houses were destroyed in Orichov. Houses in Novodanilivka and Zeleny were also damaged, and during the shelling of Stepnohirsk, the territory of one of the households, private vehicles and agricultural machinery were damaged.
“As a result of the Russian shelling, a married couple from Malaya Tokmachka received shrapnel injuries to their lower limbs and torso, and a 51-year-old resident of Orichova was injured. All the injured were hospitalized,” the report said.
Currently, law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings in accordance with Part 1 of Art. 438 (Violation of laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
