Russian troops continue to shell the Kherson and Berislav districts with artillery and UAVs.
On August 15, Russian attacks hit Kherson, Antonivka, Kizomys, Ulyanivka, Romashkove, Zelenivka, Berehove, Prydniprovske, Veletenske, Inzhenerne, Stanislav, Bilozerka, Oleksandrivka, Mykolaivka, Sofiivka, Beryslav, Shevchenkivka, Dudchany, Tyahynka, Olhivka, Mykolaivka, Lviv, Odradokamyanka, Burgunka.
Russian strikes damaged 27 objects: an apartment building and 14 private houses, an administrative building, a lyceum, critical infrastructure facilities, five utility buildings, and a warehouse.
In the afternoon, the Russian military shelled Mykolaivka with artillery. One of the shells hit the territory of a private household, where a 54-year-old man was injured. He received an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to his legs. Two residential buildings were damaged in the village.
A warehouse in Antonivka, two houses and an outbuilding in Zelenivka, and one house in Veletensky were damaged by UAV discharges.
Russian troops fired artillery at Ulyanivka, damaging two residential buildings there. Another house was damaged in Belozerka as a result of shelling.
Two residential buildings in Dudchany and Shevchenkivka were damaged as a result of FPV drone attacks, as well as an outbuilding in Belozerka.
In Tomyna Balka, a 56-year-old local resident stepped on an explosive object in his backyard. As a result of the detonation, the man received a mine-explosive injury and a traumatic amputation of his leg. Unfortunately, he died in hospital from the injuries he received.
The police once again urge citizens to be very careful and not to visit potentially dangerous places. If you find ammunition, explosives or simply suspicious objects, you should immediately notify the police or the State Emergency Service.
In the morning, the central part of Kherson was under artillery fire from the Russians. Two men aged 40 and 52 were injured as a result of the Russian strikes. The older victim was hospitalized with an explosive injury, shrapnel wounds to the lower back and a fractured rib. The younger man was diagnosed with concussion. An administrative building and an apartment building were damaged.
In the Korabelny district, the Russians attacked a residential building with a drone. As a result of the explosive discharge, a 45-year-old woman who was in the house was injured. She was diagnosed with concussion, explosive and craniocerebral injuries. A neighboring house was also damaged.
The Korabel microdistrict suffered from artillery shelling, where the lyceum building was once again damaged.
In the evening, Russian troops fired artillery at the Dnipro district. One of the shells hit the territory of a private household, where a 73-year-old woman was injured. She has a mine-explosive injury, shrapnel wounds to the head, arms and legs. She was taken to the hospital by police officers. A 51-year-old woman was also injured, whose house was also hit by a Russian shell. She was hospitalized with a mine-explosive injury. In total, six private houses were damaged.
Three employees of a Kherson hospital needed medical assistance, who were injured on August 14 due to shelling of a medical facility in the central part of the city. Two 47-year-old women and a 28-year-old man received explosive injuries and contusions.
Three residents of Beryslav also sought medical assistance, who were injured due to the dropping of explosives from a drone on August 12. The men, aged 62, 63 and 68, were diagnosed with mine-explosive injuries and contusions.
A 22-year-old police officer who was injured in an attack by a drone on a car in Bilozerka on August 12 also sought medical help. The law enforcement officer was diagnosed with a mine-explosive injury and contusion.
Specialized services were working at the sites of Russian strikes, documenting and eliminating the consequences of the attacks.
On August 15, the police responded to 376 applications and reports from citizens about criminal offenses and other events. 15 proceedings were opened under Article 438 “War Crimes” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Shelling of Kherson region: Russians attacked 41 settlements, 2 people injured
During August 16, Russians shelled 41 cities and villages of the right-bank Kherson region. 2 civilians were injured.
In particular, on August 16, Kozatske, Beryslav, Kostyrka, Novoraysk, Bilozerka, Sofiivka, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Odradokamyanka, Tyahynka, Olhivka, Burgunka, Mykolaivka, Lviv, Novovoskresenske, Kyselyvka, Tomina Balka, Rakivka, Ponyativka, Mykilske, Antonivka, Sadovo, Berehove, Kizomys, Dniprovske, Rozlyv, Klapaya, Doslidne, Komyshany, Osokorivka, Dar’ivka, Dudchany, Mykhailivka, Naddnipryanske, Novooleksandrivka, Prydniprovske, Tokarivka, Ukrainka, Urozhayne, Nadiivka and Kherson were under Russian shelling.
