254 educational institutions were damaged in the Kherson region

In the Kherson region, 144 schools and 110 kindergartens were damaged or destroyed due to Russian attacks.

This was announced by the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

In educational institutions, where the security situation allows, repair work is carried out. Currently, 5 schools and 5 kindergartens have been renovated in the Kherson region.

There are also plans to launch about 15 educational institutions with compliance with safety requirements, Prokudin noted.

From September 1, 2024, the Kherson Regional Military Administration and the Regional Department of Education are considering the possibility of resuming offline education in schools of the Kherson Region, located at a distance of more than 40 km from the combat zone.

Yuriy Sobolevskyi said that 191 educational institutions work online in the Kherson region.
