3,000 Africans are fighting against Ukraine: Russia is actively recruiting foreigners
At least 2,982 people from 37 African countries have been recruited into the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces. So far, about 486 people have been killed
According to a report by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Russian special services are manipulating Africans. In particular, they lure them into the army under the pretext of employment or training, promising financial support and Russian citizenship. In many cases, foreigners are forced to sign military contracts in Russian under the threat of deportation or imprisonment.
Diplomatic institutions in Africa regularly inform local officials about the recruitment of their citizens by Russia. These are citizens from 17 African countries. The largest number of recruits is recorded from Kenya, Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Algeria and Mali.
