The Kherson region commemorated the children whose lives were taken by Russian aggression. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the region, 39 boys and girls have died, and another 267 children have been injured.
This was announced by the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, on the Day of Commemoration of Children Who Died as a Result of Russia’s Armed Aggression Against Ukraine.
According to the head of the regional military administration, together with the clergy, volunteers and people working for the future of children, he took part in a commemorative event near the monument dedicated to the dead children of the Kherson region.
In the Kherson region, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Russians have cut off the lives of 39 boys and girls. Children who were supposed to grow up, dream, and live. Another 267 children were injured, Prokudin noted.
The monument is located near a playground that had previously suffered from Russian shelling. It was there that the participants of the event prayed for the souls of the innocently killed children.
Also, on this day, memorial bells will ring throughout Ukraine – symbolic “voices of children” whose lives were taken by the war. According to Prokudin, this ringing reminds of every child who will never return to their families.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration emphasized that Russia must bear responsibility for every lost childhood and every cut off life.
“None of us will ever forgive the Russians for the loss of these children. A bright memory to every life that did not have time to begin,” he noted.
