The munition did not detonate—experts estimate the explosion could have destroyed all four floors of the school.
In Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district, bomb disposal experts removed the unexploded warhead of a Russian strike drone that had attacked a school earlier that morning. Weighing approximately 50 kilograms, the warhead pierced the floor slab upon impact.
According to the Kyiv police, a Russian “Geran-4” drone struck the wall of a stairwell between the second and third floors of the educational institution.
Its warhead, weighing about 50 kilograms, punched through the floor and fell onto the stairs but failed to detonate.
“Experts estimate that had it detonated, the explosion could have caused the collapse of all four floors of the building,” the police reported.
At the time of the Russian attack, students and staff were in the shelter, so there were no casualties.
