On December 28, the head of the Odesa regional prosecutor’s office, Ihor Domuschei, spoke about the war crimes of the Russian Federation. According to Ihor Domushchei, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 202 shelling by the Russians of civilian and critical infrastructure facilities in Odesa and the region have been documented.
“In particular, 113 attacks by air, sea and land-based missile weapons have been documented. A total of more than 203 missiles, not including those shot down by air defense forces. 80 attacks by UAVs, two aerial bombardments and seven attacks by ship’s artillery,” Ihor Domuschei said. The facts of the deaths due to shelling of 55 people, including two children, are being investigated. 241 civilians were injured, including 27 children. As a result of shelling, the property of more than nine thousand residents of the Odesa region was damaged and destroyed. In particular, more than 300 private residential buildings were significantly damaged, and 53 of them were completely destroyed. A nine-story residential building with 106 apartments was also destroyed. More than 6,100 residential apartments, private houses, educational institutions, catering establishments and other buildings were damaged by blast waves.
39 recreation centers in the coastal zone belonging to private enterprises were destroyed and damaged. Objects of civil and critical infrastructure suffered significant damage – Odessa international airport, a number of private enterprises, seven complexes of electric substations, educational institutions, dormitory buildings, the international checkpoint Orlivka-Isakcha, the Odesa Savior and Transfiguration Cathedral was destroyed, more than 30 buildings were damaged , which are architectural monuments of the 19th and 20th centuries. According to Ihor Domushchei, pre-trial investigations are being carried out in 139 criminal proceedings based on violations of the laws and customs of war.
During the attack on the night of December 27, fragments of downed UAVs fell on one of the uninhabited new buildings of Odessa. Also, a drone shot down in the air fell on country houses in the suburbs of Odessa. A fire broke out. A 35-year-old man died on the spot. Another victim, who was hospitalized in serious condition, later died in the hospital.
