On the evening of August 12, Russian troops launched a massive rocket attack on the city of Bogodukhiv and nearby settlements in the Kharkiv region, as a result of which seven people, including four children, were injured, the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
“At least five hits were recorded. At least 30 residential buildings were damaged. As a result of rocket attacks, four minors were injured – two boys aged 4 months and 5 years and two girls aged 2 years, 9 months and 10 years. Children have an acute reaction to stress. Three women also sought medical help,” the prosecutor’s office said.
According to the agency, the results of an examination of the recovered wreckage confirmed that one of the missiles used was a North Korean KN-23 (or KN-24), known as the Hwasong-11.
According to South Korea and Western countries, North Korea last year began large-scale supplies of weapons and ammunition to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine. This is a violation of international sanctions against the North Korea, which Russia has undertaken to comply with. Both Moscow and Pyongyang denied the fact of arms supply.
The Washington Post reported on June 22 that Russia may have received about 1.6 million artillery shells from North Korea, while military analysts said Russian forces had fired North Korean missiles at Ukraine.
