70% of the city destroyed, the situation is getting worse every day: what is happening in Kupyansk

The situation in Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, is constantly deteriorating – the shelling does not stop, 70% of the city has been destroyed. The Russians are attacking civilians and municipal infrastructure.

This was reported by the head of the Kupyansk city military administration, Andriy Besedin.

“There is a very large number of shelling from all types of weapons. On the evening of February 5, a volunteer who was bringing humanitarian aid was injured as a result of a drone attack. Also, a representative of a utility company, a tractor driver who was delivering water to the residents of Kupyansk, was wounded. In general, the situation is extremely difficult, the front line is two kilometers from the city border, so, unfortunately, it is getting worse and worse every day,” says Andriy Besedin.

According to him, the Russians are increasingly shelling the civilian population and infrastructure. Currently, 70% of the city has been destroyed. There are no survivors from the 294 apartment buildings in the community.

“We are constantly being shelled, especially with the use of the Mlolniya UAV. Moreover, now the Russians have started to put shrapnel or bullets from automatic weapons there, which poses an even greater threat to the civilian population, because the radius of damage is increasing and, unfortunately, people are injured and killed. They use them to intimidate the population, shell communal enterprises and ambulances. And they are constantly shelled with guided aerial bombs, after which entire streets remain destroyed,” notes the head of the city military administration.
