73 sports facilities were destroyed and damaged in Donetsk region since February 2022

As of September 19 of this year, data on 73 sports facilities in 22 territorial communities of Donetsk region that have been destroyed and damaged since February 2022 have been recorded in the relevant State Register.

This was announced by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin.

Thus, as a result of hostilities in the region, 11 stadiums, 19 sports complexes, 15 sports halls, 9 premises of children’s and youth sports schools, 4 swimming pools, 2 ice arenas, 3 standard football fields measuring 105 by 68 meters were damaged.

The infrastructure of 3 oblast institutions of communal ownership is mutilated:

Regional specialized children’s and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve for cycling in Lyman;

Donetsk regional specialized professional college of sports profile named after Sergey Bubka;

Donetsk regional sports medicine center in Bakhmut.

2 sports facilities in Donetsk region, which had the status of an Olympic and Paralympic training base, were destroyed as a result of Russian shelling:

modern sports complex “Metalurg” in Bakhmut;

a unique 50-meter outdoor swimming pool of the “Olimpiyskiy” sports complex in Kurakhovo.
