As a result of a Russian drone strike in Kharkiv, residential high-rise buildings were damaged, cars and garages were on fire

As a result of an attack by a Russian drone on the night of March 2, residential buildings, garages and cars were damaged in Kharkiv. This was announced by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Synegubov.

According to him, the explosion from the Shahed drone took place just after midnight.

“As a result of the shelling, glazing of windows and balconies, five garages, 17 cars were damaged, three cars were on fire. No casualties or deaths were found, three people complained of an acute reaction to stress,” Sinegubov wrote.

One of the local residents told the details of the Russian UAV attack.

“I heard as if a motorcycle was buzzing, it was gaining speed, more and more. It was clear that it had already been hit. At first it seemed that the house was falling. Everything was falling, the windows, the slate was flying. Then I ran out, looked – four cars were on fire. Immediately there was an explosion. It is 15-20 meters from the house,” says the man.

An air alert was announced in Kharkiv from 10:43 p.m. Sinegubov reported that there were explosions in Kharkiv at approximately 2:30 am. He said that no victims were found, cars were already burning on the spot.

This very night, a 76-year-old man was killed in Veliky Burluk, Kharkiv region, as a result of a drone attack.

On March 1, after a trip to Kharkiv, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyі, said that there are not enough air defense systems in the city to recommend that residents return home. “I don’t think that Kharkiv is so protected now that I can advise people to return. This is the choice of the people of Kharkiv. That’s how it is today,” the president said.
