Russia hit Ukraine with missiles and drones: a civilian object in the Ternopil region was damaged

On the night of March 12, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones and an Kh-59 cruise missile. Air defense forces destroyed 17 drones out of 22. In the south, no hits were allowed, and in the Ternopil region, an infrastructure facility was damaged.

“At night, the Russians once again attacked Ukraine, using 22 UAVs of the Shahed type. 17 attack UAVs were destroyed by the forces and means of air defense of Ukraine,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.

The defense forces of southern Ukraine specified that at night the Russian Federation again attacked the southern regions with kamikaze drones of the Shahed-131/136 type and launched an Kh-59 missile from a tactical aircraft from the Black Sea in the direction of Odesa. Air defense units destroyed the target over the sea.

“For 2.5 hours, air defense units repelled the drone attack. 8 targets were destroyed: 2 in the Kherson region, 4 in the sky over the Mykolaiv region, another 2 left our operational zone in the direction of the Dnipropetrovsk region, where they were also destroyed,” the military added.

In the south, “hits are not allowed.”

And in the Ternopil region, an infrastructure object caught fire during an attack by Russian drones on the night of March 11-12. The nearest settlement remains without gas, there was no electricity.

“On the night of March 12, as a result of attacks by Russian UAVs of the Shahed type, a fire broke out at one of the infrastructure facilities in the Kremenets district,” the Ternopil Regional Military Administration said in a statement.

To extinguish the fire, 19 units of special equipment, 73 personnel and a tactical robot were involved.

The regional military administration noted that there were no casualties.

Electricity and gas supply was stopped in the nearby settlement due to the fire. As of 7:00 a.m., electricity was restored to local residents. Gas supply is also expected to be restored soon.
