Russia is forcing residents of the captured part of the Zaporizhzhia region to participate in pseudo-elections

The Russian regime pressures the residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region and forces them to participate in the illegal “elections of the president of the Russian Federation”. For this purpose, the enemy organized “home voting”.

This was reported by the Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

“The Russians put pressure on the residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region and force them to participate in the so-called presidential elections of the Russian Federation by organizing “home voting”. Representatives of the “election commissions” conduct apartment-by-apartment rounds of residents of the occupied cities of the Zaporizhzhia region, accompanied by servicemen armed with assault rifles,” the report says.

As noted, previously the Russians had already conducted “home voting” in the villages of the region, and on March 15 and 16, they will go to the homes of the townspeople. In particular, Zaporizhzhia NPP workers were officially notified that members of the “election commissions” would come to their homes.

“Voting” under machine guns has nothing to do with democracy or fair elections, the Center for Countering Disinformation noted.

Also, the Center for countering disinformation reminded that any “elections” organized in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are illegal and will not have any legal consequences. And the forced participation of residents of the occupied territories in them is a gross violation of international law.
