On March 24, 40% of consumers were restored to power in Kharkiv after a massive attack on the energy sector on March 22. With heat – 60% of the city. At the same time, the situation remains difficult: due to shelling in the regional center, the CHP plant and all transformer substations were destroyed.
The chairman of the city, Ihor Terekhov, told about it on the air of the telethon. According to him, water supply was restored to almost all houses. However, forecasts regarding the exact date of restoration of electricity to all consumers cannot be given at the moment: “Energy companies cannot provide stable electricity supply to the entire city. Very serious destruction – destroyed transformer substations and CHP. But we will work together with the government to provide electricity to the entire city as soon as possible.”
Currently, the city uses schedules of stabilization shutdowns. They are being corrected.
Attack on energy on March 22
On March 22, Russia dealt the largest blow to Ukraine’s energy sector since the beginning of the war. The Ministry of Energy later reported that the goal of the Russians was to cause a complete blackout in our country. However, they failed to do so.
The most difficult time after the attack was in Kharkiv. The city went into full blackout mode. As a result of a massive enemy attack on March 22, 700,000 people in the Kharkiv region were left without electricity. An employee of one of the energy facilities was injured due to an enemy attack.
