The Russians destroyed the Academy of Arts in Kyiv on March 25, 2024

In the Pechersk district of the capital, the building of the Mykhailo Boychuk Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design was destroyed.

As a result of falling debris, the central part of the building was destroyed. In particular, the sports hall, congress hall and exhibition center were completely destroyed. The premises of the departments and the auditorium of the institution were also significantly damaged.

The laboratory assistant of the department of painting was injured, she was taken to the hospital. The premises of the department itself were completely filled up.

Nearby buildings were damaged by the impact.

The commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk, reported that the Russians had struck Kyiv with two ballistic missiles from the occupied Crimea.

It is noted that they entered the airspace of Ukraine at a hypersonic speed (up to 9,000 km/h) at an altitude of up to 40 km. That is why a few minutes passed from the announcement of the alarm to the explosions.

“Anti-aircraft missile units hit a target at a high altitude above Kyiv. Fragments of Russian rockets continued to move by inertia and fell with a radius of flight of several kilometers. The part detonated in the surface layer of the air,” the message reads.

In the Lyceum No. 88 of the Pechersk district, immediately after the air-raid warning was sounded, a headquarters was deployed to help victims of the Russian attack.
