During the massive Russian attack on the Ukrainian energy system on March 22, the Russian military destroyed one of the largest TPPs in the Kharkiv region – Zmiivska.
This was reported by Centerenergo: “All units were destroyed, auxiliary equipment was damaged. The degree of destruction is different, from complete to significant.”
The company is still dismantling rubble, most of the equipment is currently inaccessible. And that’s why for now “there is no way to more accurately assess the scale of damage, exact figures regarding the amount needed for restoration, as well as any predictions regarding the time of repairs.”
However, Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko promised the station help.
“We will help through donors. There is money. There is a corresponding energy support fund. He works. Therefore, everyone is ready to help!” Galushchenko said after visiting the station.
Tsentrenergo was reminded that the Zmiivska TPP had already been “raised almost from scratch” once after Russian shelling.
On March 22, Ukraine suffered the largest attack on the energy system since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Kharkiv region was the most affected.
