After the massive Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, the situation in the energy system is quite difficult, and the losses have exceeded 1 billion dollars and continue to grow, caused by damage to thermal, hydroelectric power plants and power transmission facilities.
The latest massive Russian shelling aimed at the Russian energy infrastructure led to large-scale damage. The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko told about it.
According to him, after the wave of massive Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, the situation in the energy system is quite difficult.
Today, we are talking about more than a billion dollars worth of losses. But the attacks continue, and it is obvious that the losses will increase – said Galushchenko.
The minister emphasized that the main damage was caused by massive attacks to thermal and hydro generation facilities, as well as electricity transmission systems.
In addition, daily attacks on various types of energy facilities by drones, ballistics or artillery continue.
The system is currently stable, but the situation is rather complicated – summarized the head of the Ministry of Energy.
At the same time, Galushchenko emphasized that thanks to favorable weather conditions, the energy system can be balanced with the capacities of the renewable energy sector of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, power supply restrictions are in effect in some regions, in particular in Kharkiv, which is under daily enemy shelling. Work is being carried out in the region to stabilize the situation and prepare for the autumn-winter period.
Also, the help of international partners is involved in carrying out restoration and repair works, as well as increasing the capacities of the shunting generation.
