During the massive shelling on May 8, Russia attacked three DTEK thermal power plants. The Russians caused serious damage to the equipment.
DTEK reported that energy workers are currently trying to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
Russia attacked three TPPs of DTEK
The company noted that the night of May 8 was difficult for the Ukrainian energy industry.
Another extremely difficult night for the Ukrainian energy industry. The enemy fired at three of our TPPs. The equipment is seriously damaged. Power engineers are currently working on eliminating the consequences of the attack, DTEK reported.
The company added that this is already the fifth massive shelling of its energy facilities in the past month and a half.
The last time the enemy attacked the thermal power plants of DTEK during massive attacks on March 22 and 29, April 11 and 27.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the DTEK thermal power plant has been fired upon about 180 times. As a result of these shellings, 51 workers were wounded at the stations, three energy workers were killed.
Russia fired at energy facilities in 6 regions
On the morning of May 8, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. A large-scale air alert was declared twice.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Russia fired at electricity generation and transmission facilities in 6 regions: Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Vinnytsia regions.
Unfortunately, during the attack, civilian infrastructure was also damaged, in particular, high-rise buildings. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that there were wounded as a result of the attack.
