Ukrainian Vovchansk, bordering Russia, is turning into a wasteland

Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, is under constant Russian fire. About 400 residents remained in the settlement. Before the war, there were almost 18,000.

Vovchansk is in ruins and almost devoid of people

On May 11, rescuers went out to extinguish fires and dismantle rubble after the bombing of Vovchansk.

“Due to the constant shelling from the Russians, the firefighters had to stop their combat work and immediately return to the unit. On the way, the rescuers noticed local residents who had left their homes, fleeing from the shelling. The State Emergency Service officers put them in a fire truck and evacuated them to a safe settlement.”

The Vovchan police department reported that about 300-400 residents remain in the border town.
