Rescuers in Toretsk came under Russian fire while evacuating wounded people. This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on May 23.

The message states that two men were injured after a Russian attack on the residential sector of the village of Severnye in the Bakhmut district.

As reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, rescuers from the Phoenix evacuation group and police officers arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the victims. While transporting the wounded to the hospital in Kostyantynivka, the evacuation group came under Russian artillery fire.

The department noted that no one was injured.

“Fortunately, the armored vehicle absorbed the impact and no one was injured,” the post reads.
