Often, the so-called temporary distribution points are located outside settlements – in old boarding houses, children’s camps in the forest. Because of this, Ukrainians find themselves in an even more dependent position, because they cannot find a job, because it is difficult to get to it, sometimes even transport does not run here.
People complain about mold, lack of repairs in the rooms. Families of four to six people can give only one room, where there is nothing except beds. Even chairs.
“We lived in the Pskov region, in the forest, in an old boarding house or a dormitory. There was snow on the windowsill from the side of the room, because the windows didn’t close due to old age. There was mold in the corners, because of this the child started asthma. Then thanks to the help of the charity fund, we were transferred to another region, although living conditions are better there. At first, they wanted to send us to Vladivostok, they said at the distribution point that there is a train to Vladivostok, get on it and go there,” said Iryna from Mariupol.
