The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) officially recognized the actions of the Russian Federation as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
This is indicated in the resolution adopted by the organization, People’s Deputy Pavlo Frolov reported.
The document also talks about the need to decolonize the aggressor country. The resolution was adopted on the opening day of the summer session in Bucharest. The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly condemned the 10-year military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. And the actions of the military and political leadership of the Russian Federation and the Russian Armed Forces during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine were recognized as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
“The document also defines the decolonization of the Russian Federation as a necessary prerequisite for the establishment of lasting peace,” said the People’s Deputy.
The resolution, in particular, calls on the 53 OSCE participating states to make efforts for the de-occupation of Crimea and all territories of Ukraine seized by the Russian invaders by supporting the Peace Formula and the Crimean Platform.
The document also contains a call for the creation of a Special Tribunal to hold the Russian Federation accountable for crimes committed during the aggressive war against Ukraine.
They also call for an investigation at the international and national levels of mass atrocities, murders, rapes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine.
According to the people’s deputy, the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will last until July 3.
The creation of a special tribunal over the Russian Federation for crimes against Ukraine was supported by 44 countries. They signed the political declaration of the “Restoring Justice for Ukraine” conference held in The Hague.
The document expressed support for the creation of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression and initiatives to use frozen assets of Russia for the benefit of Ukraine.
