A massive missile attack on Kyiv: there were hits, there is severe destruction and many dead

On July 8, Russia attacked Kyiv with missiles. The Russians hit the capital in two waves. Powerful explosions rang out in the city. Air defense forces were working. However, there were hits. Many dead.

What is known about the attack

In Kyiv, falling debris was recorded in the Solomyanskyi, Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Svyatoshynskyi, Desnyanskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. Falling debris caused severe damage and caused significant destruction. However, there were also hits in the capital. As of 2:30 p.m., it is known that at least 15 people died in Kyiv in different areas of the city.

What is known about the damage:

in the Solomyansk district, two floors of a multi-story building were damaged, destruction on an area of ​​1,500 sq.m., demolition of rubble is underway;

in the Holosiiv district, garages were damaged, cars were on fire;

in the Dnipro district, debris in a residential building is burning.

a private house was damaged in Darnytskyi district;

in Sviatoshyn district, debris is burning near a residential building; a fire broke out in the premises of one of the enterprises;

a house caught fire in Desnyan district;

in the Shevchenkiv district, the “Okhmatdyt” children’s hospital was damaged, there is considerable destruction; a high-rise building was damaged in the area – the building was destroyed from the first to the third floor.

One of the buildings of the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital was almost completely destroyed as a result of the Russian attack on July 8. Nearby buildings were also damaged.

This was announced by the chairman of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko.

He said that in another building in Okhmatdyt, all the windows were broken, and medical equipment was also damaged.

Hitting a high-rise building

In the Shevchenkiv district of Kyiv, a Russian rocket hit a residential building. Damaged entrances. One was completely destroyed.

Rescuers continue to search for people under the rubble of a residential building in Syrka. “We hear the voices of people under the rubble. Rescuers are trying to save people as quickly as possible,” said the chairman of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko.

Hitting “Okhmatdit”

During the rocket attack, the premises of the children’s medical institution – “Okhmatdyt” were hit. As a result of the impact, the toxicology department of the hospital was destroyed. There were seriously ill children on dialysis. According to the head of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko, operations were ongoing at the hospital during the shelling, but the patients from the operating rooms were rescued.

Small patients, in particular patients from the intensive care unit, will be transferred to other medical facilities in the capital. In particular, the Kyiv City Military Administration has already reported the rehospitalization of five people.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said that the Russian Federation “hit the children” with the Kh-101 missile. He noted that this Russian cruise missile contains “dozens of microelectronics that are manufactured in NATO countries.”

It is known that as a result of the strike on “Okhmatdyta” there are casualties. Vitaliy Klitschko reported that at least two people were victims of the attack. According to him, there are no victims among children, adults died. In particular, one doctor.

Attack on the medical center on the left bank

During the second attack on the capital, fragments of rockets fell on a medical center in the Dnipro district of Kyiv. It is noted that the administrative building of the institution was damaged.

The Kyiv City Military Administration initially reported four deaths in the center. Later, the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that the number of victims had increased to seven.

Attacks on DTEK substations

During the missile strike, three transformer substations of DTEK in Holosiiv and Shevchenkiv districts were destroyed and damaged. Electricity grids were also damaged. The company promises that most houses will be powered by backup sources in the near future.
