A large-scale fire destroyed part of the nature reserve on the island of Biryuchy near Kyrylivka

The Russians staged another ecological disaster in Melitopol region. The fire engulfed the nature reserve on the shores of the Sea of Azov.

What scientists and ecologists had warned about happened – the criminal actions of the Russian Federation led to a large-scale fire on Biryuchy Island. 30 hectares of territory were on fire, which was extinguished by several teams of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations with the involvement of other structures.

Skilful management of the Russian Federation led to the destruction of valuable species of plants and animals that were still preserved in the reserve. But the Russians are silent about the damage, as well as about what caused the fire.

Currently, not only Biryuchy Island, but also the entire territory of the Azov-Syvas National Nature Park suffers from the Russian occupation. This makes it impossible to maintain and care for animals, to deliver feed and water, because the limited fodder base for many representatives of the fauna of this protected area has been completely or partially destroyed. As a result of hostilities, animals die, they stop reproducing, they are blown up by landmines, and the young do not survive. The war disrupted the natural corridors and migration paths of birds, their natural habitat, making nesting impossible.
