On the night of November 23, Russian occupiers shelled a hospital in Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region. The rocket destroyed the two-story building of the polyclinic maternity ward.
A 2-day-old baby died as a result of a blow to the delivery room. The mother was rescued from the rubble.
The chairman of Vilniansk, Nataliya Musienko, spoke about the condition of the woman in labor.
“It’s not even about the premises, it’s about the fact that we lost a newborn baby tonight, who is only two days old. The baby died.
The woman in labor was sent home, she is in a state of shock. And the child was sent for a forensic medical examination,” said Musienko.
In addition to the mother and baby, another gynecologist on duty was also injured by the shelling.
“The gynecologist, who was on duty at night, was pulled out from under the rubble, he has burns, he was sent to the 5th city hospital to the burn department. All the others are alive and well,” the mayor added.
