In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russians are committing crimes and trying to recruit the local population

In the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russians are trying to recruit Ukrainians into what they call the “volunteer battalion named after court fee”.

This was reported by the Center of National Resistance under the Special Operations Forces.

The battalion was created for propaganda purposes in 2022 and was never a battalion in terms of personnel, but rather a company consisting of Russians and a few dozen mercenaries.

The local population did not go to the Russians for service, except for a few collaborators. As a result, in two years, due to losses and desertions, the battalion does not exist, but there is only a criminal proceeding regarding the embezzlement of funds for its maintenance.

However, the local occupation administration does not give up hope of recruiting again at least a company for which funds could be written off. Therefore, the Russians commit a crime and try to recruit the local population, which is prohibited by international law.

The Center of National Resistance calls to ignore the initiatives of the Russians and not to participate in the Kremlin’s war of aggression.

The Russians created 12 different youth organizations in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region. The main task of these structures is propaganda and militarization.
