“The largest attack on the city”: the chairman of Konotop on the consequences of the night shelling

The chairman of Konotop, Artem Semenikhin, reported on the large-scale destruction and human casualties as a result of the night attack of the Russian troops on the city.

According to the chairman, this was the largest attack on Konotop since the full-scale invasion began. Russia used Iranian Shahed drones, striking residential buildings, infrastructure and educational institutions.

As a result of the shelling, 14 people were injured, two of them are in serious condition. One of the victims, who tried to help other people after the first explosions, was injured and is currently in a serious condition in a coma.

The city suffered significant destruction: more than seven apartment buildings, educational institutions and other infrastructure were damaged. There is no electricity supply, there are problems with fuel for generators.

The chairman noted that the Russians purposefully attacked civilian infrastructure, in particular, they tried to destroy a hospital.

The city government provides all the necessary assistance to the victims, in particular, it provides housing for people who have lost their homes.
