Russians have executed 177 Ukrainian prisoners of war since the beginning of the invasion

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 177 cases of execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war have been confirmed. Of these, 109 occurred in 2024.

This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.

“The execution of 177 Ukrainian prisoners of war has been confirmed. This is for all three years of full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation. But we can compare that in 2024, the execution of 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war was officially confirmed. We see that the trend has dramatically worsened,” Lubinets said.

According to him, previously information about executions was received mainly through intelligence sources, but in 2024 some of these crimes were recorded on videos that were released by the Russians themselves.

“In fact, not all cases are officially recorded, very often I receive information that we cannot confirm, nevertheless, there are all the facts that indicate that this happened,” the politician added.
