Night drone attack damages residential buildings in Kyiv region

On the night of December 22, 2024, the Russians carried out another attack on Kyiv region using unmanned aerial vehicles.

Thanks to the coordinated work of air defense and the operational actions of rescuers, human casualties and significant destruction were avoided. The situation was quickly brought under control.

At about half past one in the morning, the debris of a downed drone caused a fire on the roof of a 25-story building in the city of Brovary.

The fire spread to the roof and the elevator shaft. The rescuers of the State Emergency Service acted quickly and professionally – they evacuated residents and provided assistance to people who were blocked in one of the apartments.

The area of ​​the fire was 30 square meters, but thanks to the operational actions of firefighters, it was possible to localize and eliminate it. Another 25-story building was also damaged by the attack, with windows in one of the apartments damaged. In addition, debris damaged a car parked nearby.

The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, reported that the air alert continued throughout the night.

The air defense forces worked continuously and effectively, as evidenced by the number of Russian targets shot down. Most importantly, they managed to prevent hits on critical infrastructure facilities, and there were no casualties among the local population.

This event once again demonstrates the high level of training and professionalism of Ukrainian rescuers and military personnel, who protect civilians from Russian aggression around the clock.

Despite constant attacks, air defense systems and civil defense services continue to effectively perform their tasks.
