Russian terrorists launched rocket attacks in the Kharkiv region

Russian terrorists attacked the Izyum district of the Kharkiv region with rockets at night.

This was announced by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Synegubov.

As a result of an enemy strike, a large-scale fire broke out at a civilian object of industrial infrastructure. There were no casualties, Sinegubov noted.

Russia damaged the university’s laboratory and educational buildings, catering block and dormitories. Damage in buildings outside Kharkiv was not counted

State environmental protection inspectors inspected the buildings of the State Biotechnological University and established that as a result of Russian missile attacks on the State Biotechnological University, damage to the environment was caused in the amount of more than 3.534 billion hryvnias. This was reported by eco-inspectors.

“Damage caused to the state as a result of violation of environmental legislation is calculated in accordance with the “Methodology for determining the amount of damage caused to land and soil as a result of emergency situations and/or armed aggression and hostilities during martial law”, approved by the order of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine by order No. 167 of April 4, 2022,” explained the State Inspectorate.

State inspectors found the following damages:

• damage to the building of the laboratory building of the university;
• damage to the building of the educational building of the university at 92 Myronosytskyi Street;
• damage to the temporary residence building of DBTU students;
• buildings of the educational building at 19 Rizdvnia Street;
• dormitory buildings on Tsylinohradska street, 52;
• buildings of the university’s academic building on Yuvileyny Avenue, 65-G;
• destruction and littering of the territory of the building of the catering block of the educational campus of the State Biotechnological University at 333 Klochkivska Street.

The State Inspectorate handed over the collected materials to the Specialized Environmental Protection Prosecutor’s Office of the Kharkiv region.

As a reminder, the State Biotechnological University was established in 2021. It included the Petro Vasylenko Kharkiv National Technical University of Agriculture, the VV Dokuchaev Kharkiv National Agrarian University, the Kharkiv State Zoo-Veterinary Academy and the Kharkiv State University of Food and Trade.

People’s deputy Andrii Odarchenko won the rector’s election, but he never completed the mandate of a people’s deputy, heads the Supervisory Board of the State Biotechnology University relocated to the west of Ukraine and attends meetings of the Verkhovna Rada.

As of the end of September, damage to the environment of the Kharkiv region reached more than 83 billion hryvnias. Of these, 82 billion hryvnias amounted to losses due to littering and soil pollution, which is the biggest damage. This also includes 134 million hryvnias — air pollution due to fires and more than 135 thousand hryvnias — damage to green spaces.

At night, Russia launched a missile attack on Naftogaz infrastructure in the Kharkiv region.

According to the head of the company, Oleksiy Chernyshov, no one was injured as a result of the shelling, but a large-scale fire broke out.

As of 3:30 p.m., the fire at an industrial enterprise in the Izyum district, which occurred after an enemy rocket attack on the night of December 20, was contained.

This was announced by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Synegubov.

“At night today, the enemy hit the industrial gas plant with rockets, as a result of which a large-scale fire occurred, which is currently contained, but emergency services units are still working on the spot,” he said.

Earlier, Synegubov reported that a large-scale fire at a civilian object of industrial infrastructure started around 2 am. No one was hurt. According to the regional administration of the National Police, the Russian army hit with S-300 missiles. The head of the Kharkiv garrison, Serhiy Melnyk, said that the oil refinery was on fire – tanks and pipelines were damaged. Later it became known that the rockets hit one of the objects of the Naftogaz oil and gas infrastructure.

As of today, the Russian army of occupation has destroyed 14,326 objects in the Kharkiv region.

As of now, 14,326 objects have been destroyed in Kharkiv Oblast as a result of Russian intervention, 264 objects less were destroyed a week earlier.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko said this on December 20 during a video address.

“Every day, Russian terrorists try with all their might to destroy Ukrainian men and women, terrorizing peaceful towns and villages. As of now, 14,326 objects have been destroyed in Kharkiv Oblast,” he said.

At the same time, for example, 9,356 objects were destroyed in the Mykolaiv region, which is also subjected to shelling every day.

We will remind that a week ago, on December 13, Tymoshenko announced that 14,062 objects were destroyed by the Russian occupiers in the Kharkiv region.
