Everything that could be taken out of Pokrovsk burned down: a drone destroyed a private enterprise in Cherkasy

In Cherkasy, a drone attack on February 4 burned down a hangar in one of the private enterprises. There were household appliances, building materials, furniture and personal belongings that were transported from Pokrovsk to Cherkasy

Preliminarily, the damage is estimated at 20 million hryvnias, said the manager of the enterprise, Olga Kamchatna.

She and her family moved to Cherkasy region in March 2024. They had hotels and shops in Pokrovsk since 1998. They built premises here to store all their property and continue their business. I only found out that a Russian drone had hit their hangar in the morning when I came to work.

“I came to work as usual – at eight o’clock. I saw that there were fire engines here, something happened. There was all the equipment from the shops, from the hotels, which we transported, everything was in the hangar. We also transported all the household items here. We stored building materials, furniture from the hotels that we had in Pokrovsk. We will write lists, apply for compensation. They destroyed everything for us there, and here too.”

Yulia Norovkova, a spokeswoman for the regional State Emergency Service’s main department, spoke about the current situation:

“As a result of attacks by strike UAVs, three fires broke out at private enterprises during the night. Today, 27 special vehicles and almost a hundred rescuers are involved in the elimination of the consequences.”

As the head of the regional military administration, Igor Taburets, said, during the drone attack over the region, two dozen UAVs were recorded:

“The Ukrainian units of the aerotechnical and radar service detected about 20 flights, 12 of which were destroyed in the region. As a result of the fall of the destroyed UAVs, four of them fell on the territory of the city. These are private enterprises. As a result of the fall, fires occurred.”

As the official added, the losses caused to private enterprises are currently being calculated in order to compensate them later.
