According to the updated information of the headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the emergency situation, a hit from a MLRS with a cluster part was recorded in the area of Zarichna Street and Chekhov Street. There was no fire. Explosives technicians examined the area for the presence of explosive objects.
One of the two victims of the shelling is receiving in-patient treatment.
Six buildings were damaged: five private residential and one non-residential.
Nine windows were broken in the houses, the roof and two gables were damaged. A gas pipe was torn by fragments, which led to a temporary cessation of gas supply to two houses on Zarichna Street. Its supply has already been restored, the city council reported.
Representatives of the Sumy City Council, the State Emergency Service, the National Police, municipal enterprises, the Sumy branch of the Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine, as well as public organizations were involved in the liquidation of the consequences. A total of 50 people and 11 units of equipment worked.
The Department of Infrastructure of the Sumy City Council together with the public organization “Proliska” provided the necessary building materials for emergency and restoration work.
