On the night of June 7, the Odesa region was subjected to another attack by Russian troops. According to local authorities and law enforcement officers, the strike was carried out using drones. The village of Ovidiopol suffered significant damage, where, among other things, the local church and other infrastructure were damaged.
Local resident Liliya spoke about the shocking picture she saw when she came to the church in the morning. “The situation here was terrible. We knew all this at night, because at the beginning of the first hour we already heard a very strong explosion here… I live in the center and heard a strong explosion,” shared a parishioner of the church. She also added that the rector of the church, Father Andriy, was in the church, as he had a morning service. “And thank God that everything is fine with him, he is alive,” the woman emphasized.
The full scale of the destruction is being established. Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement officials, are working at the scene of the attack, documenting the consequences of the enemy attack. The Black Sea District Prosecutor’s Office has already launched a pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes.
