On the evening of June 7, Russian troops attacked the central part of Kharkiv. The head of the children’s railway was killed in the shelling. This was reported by the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovsky.
According to the chairman, Igor Terekhov, at about 17:30, the Russian troops attacked the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city with guided aerial bombs. The shelling occurred near the children’s railway. The attack killed the 32-year-old head of the institution. Four more railway workers were injured, one of whom is currently undergoing surgery.
“The strike occurred near the production facilities and depot of Malaya Pivdenna, our children’s railway in Kharkiv. For security reasons, its opening was canceled, so there were no students or visitors on site and they are safe! It’s scary to imagine what would have happened otherwise,” said Oleksandr Pertsovsky.
As reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky, as of 19:57, more than 40 people were injured as a result of the Russian attack.
“Another brutal murder. Air bombs on civilians in the city – there is a children’s railway nearby. This makes no military sense. Pure terrorism. And this has been going on for more than three years of full-scale war. This cannot be ignored. We cannot turn a blind eye to it. And this is not some kind of game. Every day we lose our people just because Russia feels impunity. Russia needs tough pressure for peace,” commented Volodymyr Zelensky.
On the night of June 7, the most powerful shelling of Kharkiv was carried out during the full-scale war. Three Kharkiv residents died as a result of the shelling, 21 people were injured. Among the victims were a one and a half month old baby and a 14-year-old girl.
