Russia attacked Dnipropetrovsk region: one dead, one injured, and infrastructure destroyed

During the day on June 8, Russian troops carried out massive attacks on the Nikopol and Synelnyk districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The settlements of several communities were under Russian fire, including Nikopol, Marhanets, Myrivska, Pokrovska, Chervonogryhorivska, Tomakivska, Malomykhailivska, and Novopavlivska. The Russians used kamikaze drones, artillery, and guided aerial bombs.

As a result of the Russian attack on Nikopol, a 58-year-old man died – he was hit by ammunition dropped from a UAV. Another 46-year-old man received shrapnel wounds and acubarotrauma. He was hospitalized, his condition is moderate.

As a result of the shelling in Nikopol, a gymnasium, an agricultural enterprise, a tractor, and a truck were damaged. The Russian attacks caused power outages due to a broken power line. The Pokrovska community was particularly affected, where a garage, gas pipeline, and overhead power line were destroyed. Fires of dry vegetation also broke out in several places, which were quickly extinguished by rescuers.

In the Synelnyky region, hostile shelling was recorded in the Malomykhailivska and Novopavlivska communities. As a result of the attacks, a private residential building and a passenger car were destroyed. Russian troops used drones and guided aerial bombs, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the successful destruction of six Russian drones over the region. Local rescue services, police, and energy specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and restore damaged infrastructure.
