Over 100 houses in Kharkiv destroyed by Russian drones in 9 minutes on the night of June 11

On the night of June 11, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with “Shaheds”. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Russian occupiers used at least 17 strike drones. Residential buildings, a trolleybus depot, shops, kiosks, cars, and civilian enterprises were under fire. Fires broke out in the areas hit, one of the residential buildings was almost completely destroyed, and people were evacuated from there by rescuers. According to the latest data, five people died and about 60 were injured in the Russian strike on Kharkiv.

The Russian drone hit the roof of a residential building, causing the floor slabs to collapse and a huge hole to form in the middle of the building. When the attack began, the resident of the house, Natalya, along with her children and grandchildren, hid behind two walls.

“Then one after another — a whistle and an explosion, a whistle and an explosion. Eight times in a row. We were already saying goodbye to life. We sat down in the corridor. I said: “Well, that’s it, now,” but God had mercy,” the woman recalls.

Despite the fact that the house was almost completely destroyed, its residents were alive, rescuers managed to quickly evacuate everyone.

“The firefighters set up the ladder and took both the child and the mother out of there. They worked well, quickly,” said Natalya, a resident of the destroyed house.

She added that the family almost did not have time to take anything from the house — they jumped out with what they were wearing before the house collapsed.

In nine minutes of the night attack, 17 Russian drones destroyed almost a hundred residential buildings in two districts of Kharkiv. Explosions were heard from everywhere, and severe fires started in nine places of impact.

There was also a direct hit by a Russian drone in a five-story residential building. A strong fire engulfed the building from the third to the fifth floors. The floor slabs collapsed. A girl died in this building.

“After the third strike, I woke up and heard that it was flying very close, so I went out. Very timely, because if I had stayed, I would have been injured. There was a girl who died in the neighboring entrance, a young girl died, unfortunately,” said Natalya, a resident of the five-story building destroyed by the Russians.

The blast wave also damaged neighboring buildings. In total, more than 1,400 windows flew out after the attack, 25 doors were broken, and almost 400 balconies were damaged.

“Everything happened instantly, quickly. Everyone ran out into the street, saw that everything was on fire, and realized that it had not come to our house,” said Maksym, a resident of the damaged house.

Another resident of the damaged house, Vitaliy, noted that the explosions were very loud.

In addition to residential buildings, more than ten cars burned down, playgrounds, civilian enterprises, and public transport were damaged.

“The damage was quite serious, a civilian enterprise was actually destroyed. The enemy is targeting exclusively civilian enterprises. These are businesses, these are residential buildings, these are sleeping areas. A large number of civilians are suffering,” said Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

More than ten victims were hospitalized in Kharkiv hospitals after the night shelling, including three children. Their condition is moderate.
