The death toll from a Russian missile attack in Dnipro has risen to 20, with 300 injured.
This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak: “Again, tragic news from the Dnipro. The number of dead has increased to 16. There are 279 injured, including 27 children. Doctors are nearby, providing the necessary medical assistance.
Later, the head of the regional military administration added about another dead person in the Dnipro.
“In total, there are already 17 lives lost,” he emphasized.
The Russian army launched a ballistic strike on the Dnipro in the afternoon, June 24: a series of explosions were heard in the city. A passenger train was damaged during the Russian attack. The Russians also hit the city of Samar in the Dnipropetrovsk region. There are dead and wounded in both cities.
The Ukrainian Railways confirmed that a passenger train was damaged during the Russian attack in the Dnipro. However, they clarified that the train was damaged No. 52, which runs on the “Odesa-Zaporizhzhia” route.
Lysak also reported that the Russian attack damaged civilian infrastructure in Dnipro: a dormitory, a gymnasium, an administrative building, and a damaged train.
Chairman Borys Filatov said that “in terms of damage, this is probably one of the most audacious strikes” on the Dnipro during the entire full-scale war.
Damage calculations are still ongoing. However, it is known that 34 educational institutions were damaged in Dnipro, including a music school, a vocational school, and after-school centers. There is damage to 8 medical facilities – a hospital, outpatient clinics, and a dental clinic.
