In Smila, Cherkasy region, the number of victims of a nighttime missile and drone attack has increased to eleven people. This was reported by the head of the Cherkasy regional military administration, Igor Taburets. Among the wounded are two children, all of whom are receiving necessary medical assistance.

According to Taburets, according to preliminary data, three missiles and eight kamikaze drones were recorded falling within the city limits. The Russians deliberately hit civilian infrastructure. Three nine-story buildings, private homes and cars suffered significant damage. At least four educational institutions, a psychiatric hospital and the practically destroyed academic building of the College of the National University of Food Technologies, where the graduation of junior bachelors took place the day before, were also destroyed.

Currently, commissions are continuing to inspect the affected facilities to determine the final extent of the destruction. Temporary accommodation has already been arranged for residents of damaged buildings in a local school. The supply of building materials for priority repair work has also begun.

The head of the regional military administration thanked the regional Red Cross team for their prompt assistance. He added that air defense forces shot down 38 Russian drones within the Cherkasy region that night. According to Taburets, the most important thing is that there were no casualties.
