As Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said, the child received a shrapnel wound to the neck. The victim was sent to Kharkiv for surgical intervention.
The head of the regional military administration noted that the enemy deliberately chose the market for the attack. “If it weren’t for the fact that today is Monday, there would be many more victims,” Sinegubov said.
As reported, around 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Russian troops launched a rocket attack on the market of the liberated village of Shevchenkive, Kupyan district. One person died on the spot, another died in hospital. Volunteers captured on camera the total destruction of the central part of Dvorichna, residential quarters. Several meter-long funnels from missile strikes, a number of debris from Russian missiles, as well as remnants of cluster munitions fell into the frame. “People used to live here, but, unfortunately, today it’s empty. People left their houses to save their lives,” says one of the volunteers, commenting on the destruction in Dvorichnaya. “There was someone’s house here, a beautiful yard. Volunteers, under heavy mortar shelling, distribute food to local residents who have remained in the settlement. Children also stay in Dvorichnaya. Locals express their gratitude to the volunteers, their parents and even the car that brought the humanitarian aid.
