7 cultural heritage sites damaged in Odessa as a result of Russian shelling

Another Russian strike on Odessa caused significant damage to the historic center of the city, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. According to the Verkhovna Rada, seven cultural heritage sites were damaged, four of which have the status of monuments of national importance. Damaged were: Vorontsov Palace – an architectural gem and a monument of national importance; Palace on Primorsky Boulevard, 9 – one of the decorations of the city’s architecture; Rodokanaki House, now Hotel de Versal; Hotel “Londonsky” – a famous historical hotel; Building of the Burghers’ Council; Fruit Passage; Odesa-Port Station Building.

These sites are not only symbols of Odessa, but also an important part of the cultural heritage of Ukraine and the world. The attacks on them once again confirm the targeted destruction of historical values by Russian troops.
