In recent days, racist “Shaheeds” were spotted in several regions of Ukraine carrying PTM-3 anti-tank mine cassettes under their wings. The police are urging citizens to be extremely careful when detecting such devices and not to approach them, especially in vehicles.
Recently, law enforcement officers in the Sumy region discovered a downed Russian kamikaze drone to which the Russians had attached PTM-3 anti-tank mine cassettes. The National Police of Ukraine stated that the Russians can use this method to remotely mine agricultural land and field roads.
Law enforcement officers said that PTM-3 mines are small in size, have a magnetic detonator and react to the movement of vehicles passing nearby.
The police urged drivers of agricultural machinery to be careful, as such mines are difficult to spot in the grass. In the event of detecting such a mine, you must immediately:
These rules also apply to those drones that did not explode during the fall.
By the way, on August 4, communications expert and head of the Center for Radio Technologies Sergey Beskrestnov reported on the mines under the wings of the “Shaheeds”. According to him, the mines were recorded during the drone attack.
“So far, the Russians’ plan is not clear, what they want to mine and why. Maybe these are terrorist attacks on public roads, or maybe an attempt to attack our agriculture. I ask everyone to pay attention to such objects and, if detected, not to drive up to them with cars,” wrote “Flash”.
At the same time, in the comments under his post, the participants in the discussion added that mines of this type are usually brought into combat position a few minutes after being thrown from the cassette. And the duration of their combat work can be from several hours to several days, after which the mine can self-destruct.
The device has a fairly sensitive magnetic detonator that reacts to the magnetic field of the vehicle, as well as to… the approach of a person carrying metal objects weighing more than 100 grams to the mine, in which case it becomes anti-personnel.
“The biggest problem is that in a combat position the mine cannot be neutralized, because in addition to the main magnetic detonator, the mine is equipped with an additional one that is triggered when the mine position changes,” the contributors warn.
