A Russian drone hit an 18th-century temple in Sumy region

The Sumy region is under attack again – Russian troops mercilessly cover the region with fire day after day. Russian attacks do not stop, destroying peaceful cities and villages and leaving ruins behind. At the same time, the Russians are destroying mainly civilian infrastructure and even temples.

Journalists learned about one of such cases from the head of the community, Sergei Minakov.

The point is that in the village of Sopych in the Glukhiv region, Russian troops attacked one of the most valuable architectural monuments of the region – the St. Nicholas Church with a drone. The attack on it is another example of Russia’s targeted destruction of Ukraine’s spiritual and cultural sites.

The dome of the church was damaged as a result of the attack, as confirmed by photos from the scene. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the cultural heritage suffered significant damage.
