Trucks caught fire in Sumy during drone attack

On the night of September 28, Russian troops attacked Sumy and a number of settlements in the region. This was reported by the Emergency Management Department of the State Emergency Service in Sumy region and the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

As a result of a drone attack on a parking lot in the regional center, trucks with semi-trailers caught fire.

“The fire spread quickly, but rescuers quickly arrived at the scene and began extinguishing it. Due to the threat of repeated strikes, work had to be suspended,” the State Emergency Service said in a statement.

The fire has been extinguished. There were no reports of injuries.

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, on September 27, the Russian army carried out 167 attacks on 50 settlements in 13 communities. A civilian infrastructure facility was damaged in the Rychkivska community.

In Znob-Novgorod community — a two-story house, a shop, a private car. In Putyvlska — a car was destroyed. In Boromlyanska — a rescue vehicle was damaged. In Sumska — trucks were damaged and destroyed, as well as a civilian infrastructure facility.

In total, the air alert in the region lasted 20 hours and 8 minutes.
