Russia fired on railway infrastructure: Ukrzaliznytsia warns of long delays

We are examining the track, we definitely have a power outage in the Nizhyn direction. All trains in the Sumy and Chernihiv directions will run with backup diesel locomotives, and therefore with delays,” the message says.

Ukrzaliznytsia added that it will reduce forced stops and will also take care of safe transfers.

Earlier, the company noted that due to the night shelling on September 30, the movement of trains in the Chernihiv direction was already experiencing difficulties, so the current attack has made it even more difficult to restore the usual schedule.

Recently, Russian troops have intensified attacks on Ukrainian railways. On September 26, a Russian drone attack in the Odessa region caused damage to the energy infrastructure.

For this reason, a number of trains were delayed. Then, during the night, shelling caused a power outage at four stations.

Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovsky reported that the Russians use an average of six to seven Shahed kamikaze drones almost every night.
