Russia massively attacked Ukraine’s gas infrastructure

Naftogaz reported destruction. For the second time in the past week, the Russian army has carried out massive strikes on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure. On the night of October 5, Russian missiles and drones hit facilities that provide people with gas during the heating season. There is destruction at these facilities, said Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and company specialists are eliminating the consequences of Russian strikes and establishing the extent of damage.

In Shostka, the electrical network, water supply and gas supply system were damaged. One person was killed.

On October 3, Russian troops damaged a significant number of Naftogaz of Ukraine facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions. The company emphasized that on that day, the Russian Federation carried out the most massive attack on Naftogaz’s gas production assets since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
