On October 7, Russian troops carried out an attack on a public transport stop in Kherson, killing a 65-year-old man and injuring another local resident. This was reported by the Kherson District Prosecutor’s Office.
“On October 7, at around 06:30, the Russian military dropped explosives from an unmanned aerial vehicle onto the territory of a public transport stop in the city of Kherson,” the report says.
According to preliminary data, one man, 65 years old, died on the spot, another, 70 years old, was injured and was hospitalized in a local hospital.
Law enforcement officers, investigators and explosives technicians are working at the scene. They are recording another war crime by the Russian Federation directed against the civilian population.
“Urgent investigative actions are being carried out to document another act of aggression by the Russian Federation against civilians,” the prosecutor’s office reported.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kherson District Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, which led to the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Law enforcement officers are collecting evidence that can be used in international courts to bring Russian military personnel to justice.
