In the frontline city of Kherson, Russian troops continue to cynically fire on life-saving services. At night, Russians purposefully dropped explosive devices from a drone on two ambulances. This was reported by the Kherson region police.
A 61-year-old driver and a 32-year-old paramedic were injured in the attack. The injured were evacuated from the danger zone by police and taken to the hospital. The driver was diagnosed with an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to his legs. The paramedic suffered concussion, explosive and traumatic brain injuries. Both ambulances were damaged.
Russian troops are deliberately attacking doctors, rescuers and municipal workers, despite the norms of international humanitarian law.
Despite the constant attacks, more than 60,000 people remain in the city, and the provision of medical care remains critical to the survival of the civilian population. The city is holding on thanks to the resilience of medical workers, rescue workers and all services who continue to work under shelling.
Law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings. The attacks on medical transport are considered a war crime.
